When selecting a shed size, consider what you are storing on the floor and how much room you need to work and walk around it. If you have a riding mower, you should allocate about 25 to 30 square feet just to store it comfortably directly inside the double doors.

The most popular size is the 8x12 shed with 8-foot tall walls, a ramp, workbench and loft storage. With 96 square feet on the floor, you have room to store your lawn equipment and still set up your tools or gardening pots on the workbench while you store Christmas lights and other items in the loft.
